Why do some dealers insist that the seller can drive a car off the lot for a test?
I noticed that many auto dealers insist that the seller can drive the car off the property of the concessionaire. The seller is then park the car around hand and switches places with the client. This seems really stupid and pointless. What is the purpose of all this?
Insurance and marketing. Often people who are in car are excited and their attention is on the car and finance, but not on its periphery. Combine this with crowded cars, narrow roads and people milling around, it's a very dangerous place for a buyer to drive. However, the seller is just another boring day at work. Many accidents occur in parking and general parking lot is all wrong! Also, a person of bad character would be much less likely to steal a new car when a company representative is seated beside him. Realistically, it's crazy to hand the keys to a $ 40,000 vehicle to a complete stranger. You do? Finally, sales revolves around relationships. Relationships are built by talking to people.
